Repertoire generally ranges from advanced intermediate to upper-level high school literature. Students are expected to prepare independently, respond to detailed musical instruction, and contribute positively to the overall sound and performance of the ensemble.

Symphonic Band is an intermediate-level ensemble designed for students who have established fundamental instrumental skills and are ready to continue developing their technical and musical abilities. Instruction emphasizes tone quality, rhythm, articulation, scales, intonation, music literacy, ensemble balance, blend, and musical expression. Students perform literature that provides appropriate challenges while strengthening individual confidence and ensemble skills. The course prepares students for continued growth and progression into advanced-level high school ensembles.

Concert Band is designed primarily for freshman and developing musicians who are building the technical and musical foundations necessary for continued success in high school band. Instruction focuses on proper tone production, breathing, articulation, rhythm, scales, music reading, intonation, and fundamental ensemble skills. Students perform literature appropriate for developing musicians while gaining confidence and independence as performers. Emphasis is placed on establishing strong playing habits, developing musical literacy, and preparing students for continued advancement into higher-level ensembles.
